The France international's announcement has since sparked speculation on his next destination.
While Real Madrid are understood to be the strong favourites to land his services, the former Monaco man has conceded that a switch to Italy is also probable.
When asked which club he would play for, the 2018 World Cup winner noted, per Fabrizio Romano:
“Italian football? You never know what happens. I was always saying: if I will go to Italy one day, I will go to Milan," he said.
“As a kid, I was big fan of AC Milan and I always watch Serie A, every Milan game. All my family, massive Milan fan," he added.
