The English pair, who played together for one season in Germany, would have to put aside their friendship for at least 90 minutes as they seek to help their respective clubs earn the accolade of being the best club in Europe.

Comparing Bellingham's season to Sancho

Bellingham has had a near-perfect campaign with Madrid in his maiden season with the Spanish giants, becoming the first English player to win the La Liga Player of the Season prize.

With an impressive 23 goals and 12 assists in 41 games across all competitions, including four goals in the Champions League, the Stourbridge-born midfield dynamo will look to cap off his season with the UCL title this weekend.

Meanwhile, Sancho had to overcome what was bound to be a nightmarish season by swapping Manchester United for Dortmund in the second half of the season, and he has since grown in leaps and bounds.

The tricky winger has mustered a decent three goals and three assists since then, per Transfermarkt, and came alive during Dortmund's Champions League semi-final tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

What Bellingham told Sancho as UCL final beckons?

The England midfielder said he hadn't spoken to his former Dortmund teammates after Madrid's victory over Bayern Munich in the last four.

However, Bellingham did receive a congratulatory message from compatriot Jadon Sancho, to which he responded with a heartfelt reply.

"When we first went through, I got a little message from Jadon, so I spoke with Sancho, just saying, ‘I’ll see you there,’ and all those kinds of things," the 20-year-old said, as quoted by GOAL.
"Jadon’s always been someone who’s taken me under his wing when I first arrived at Dortmund. He’s a really good guy. He’s helped me a lot."

How Dortmund can make money off Bellingham?

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Dortmund faces a financial conundrum due to their former player, Jude Bellingham.

Sold to Real Madrid for £88 million, the deal included £27.5 million in add-ons, bringing the total to over £100 million.

According to reports, Madrid must pay Dortmund an additional £4.3 million if they win the Champions League with Bellingham, plus £1.7 million more if he makes the team of the season.
