In an escalating transfer saga, Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ahli Saudi FC have entered the competition to sign Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen.

Ahli have reportedly joined Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the coveted striker, who looks set to depart last season's Serie A champions this summer.

The 25-year-old's stellar performances have made him highly desirable in the transfer market, though his hefty €130 million release clause remains a significant hurdle.

Despite Napoli's hesitation to sell their star player, Osimhen appears keen on pursuing new challenges and is motivated by the potential of joining a more prominent club. This situation has set the stage for a fierce battle between Chelsea and PSG.

Al-Ahli's renewed interest in Osimhen

Ahli's renewed interest in the world-class striker adds another layer to the transfer drama. According to Il Matino via Calcionapoli, the Saudi club is stepping up its efforts to secure the Super Eagles' talisman's services.

Last summer, they attempted to sign him with a record-breaking offer that would have made him the most expensive African player, coupled with an enticing salary.

Renowned transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, reported that the Blues had already initiated discussions with Osimhen's agent regarding a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Simultaneously, the French champions, PSG, are making significant progress in their pursuit, particularly in anticipation of Kylian Mbappe's possible departure.

As noted by One Football, Chelsea is considering a bid of over €90 million, potentially including Romelu Lukaku as part of the deal.

Osimhen among Napoli’s greatest strikers

Sports Brief reported that in Osimhen's four seasons with Napoli, he has scored 76 goals and made 18 assists in 131 appearances, placing him 13th on the club's list of all-time scorers.

The late great Diego Maradona scored 115 goals in 257 appearances and is, without a doubt, the best player to play for the club.

Dries Mertens' 148 goals make the Belgian top scorer, Lorenzo Insigne bagged 122 goals in 434 appearances to sit second, and Marek Hamsik rounds up the top three with 121 goals in a record 520 matches.
