Paris Saint-Germain boss, Luis Enrique, has snubbed Kylian Mbappe while naming the club's player of the season.

The Parisians enjoyed an impressive campaign during the just-concluded 2023/24 season, winning two major titles.

PSG successfully retained the French top flight crown after finishing top of the Ligue 1 standings with 76 points.

The Enrique-tutored side crowned their season in style on Saturday by winning the French Cup following their 2-1 win over Lyon.

Ousmane Dembele and Fabian Ruiz were both on target for PSG in what was Mbappe's last game for the club.

The France international had been impressive for Les Parisiens, scoring 27 Ligue 1 goals and eight others in the Champions League.

Luis Enrique snubs Mbappe from major honour

However, despite his incredible run of form, Get Football News reports that Enrique snubbed him while naming PSG's player of the season.

According to the Spaniard, that honour belongs to Vitinha, who has consistently improved this season since his arrival in the summer of 2022.

"For me, [Vitinha] is the player of the season. If you add up his qualities as a footballer, he is the best in the team and yet all of the players are good, but he is exceptional," the PSG manager said in a post-match press conference.

Meanwhile, Enrique's claim comes ahead of Mbappe's departure from Parc des Princess.

The 25-year-old recently announced via a video published on his social media platforms that he would be departing PSG this summer.

Real Madrid are the leading contenders to land the Frenchman on a free transfer.

When Mbappe will announce future

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mbappe opening up about his football future ahead of his PSG departure.

The forward ended his career with the club in style by helping his boyhood club win the Coupe de France.

Mbappe was spotted being lifted into the air by his teammates after the match as they bid him farewell.
