Manchester United have reportedly held talks with two managers over the possibility of replacing Erik ten Hag this summer.

Ten Hag came under heavy scrutiny during the just-concluded 2023/24 season after leading United to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

The Red Devils could only manage 18 wins in 38 games, with 14 other matches ending in defeats.

However, the Old Trafford dwellers salvaged their miserable campaign by claiming the FA Cup trophy.

Ten Hag's charges edged rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the final of the tournament staged at Wembley Stadium, with goals from Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho securing the win.

According to SPORTbible, the Dutchman directly addressed his future shortly after his side's triumph, insisting that he was the right man for the job.

However, it has since emerged that United chiefs are still keen to find a replacement for the former Ajax boss.

The Telegraph claims that the club have held discussions with representatives of Thomas Frank and Mauricio Pochettino over the possibility of succeeding ten Hag.

The development comes at a time when reports claim that the Manchester outfit will conduct an end-of-the-season review to determine the suitability of ten Hag.

Frank, who is currently in charge of Brentford, has done a fantastic job with the Bees over the past six years.

His impressive CV has earned him admiration from top clubs, including Chelsea, who have him on their shortlist to succeed Pochettino.

Pochettino, meanwhile, is currently without a job after he parted company with the Blues earlier last week.

Why Man United should not sack ten Hag

Earlier, Sports Brief analysed why Manchester United should consider keeping ten Hag beyond the summer.

At the very least, the Dutchman has postponed Sir Jim Ratcliffe's inclination to make drastic changes, a move sharpened before the FA Cup final.
