Kaizer Chiefs football director Kaizer Motaung Jr. and the club's football manager Bobby Motaung are looking to lure Pitso Mosimane back to the PSL.

Reports indicate that Pitso is one of the two remaining candidates being linked to the job at the FNB Stadium.

It was gathered that the manager earned around R500k a month while in charge of the South African national team, Bafana Bafana.

When he moved to Mamelodi Sundowns in 2012, 'Jingles,' as the tactician is fondly called, earned R1 million monthly.

He led the Brazilians for eight years, winning 11 major titles, including the prestigious CAF Champions League.

Pitso later signed a staggering R2.7 million - monthly deal with Saudi club Al-Ahli in 2022, a club that was not even in the top flight at the time.

He led them to the Saudi First Division League title one year later and received a settlement figure of around R22 million as they moved to the Saudi Pro League.

The experienced tactician then joined Abha Club on a short-term deal, as he is responsible for ensuring they maintain their top-flight status.

In a report, the South African suggested that Abha’s pockets are deeper than Al-Ahli Saudi’s, meaning the manager could be costly for Amakhosi.

With Sead Ramovic believed to be out of the race for the Kaizer Chiefs job, reports say that Pitso Mosimane and Alex Santos are the final two candidates. A source told Soccer Laduma:

“To tell you the truth, there are many meetings going on now at the club concerning the coaches. But the latest is that the likelihood of Pitso Mosimane and Alexandre Santos will be one of the coaches.
“You know coach Pitso normally comes with his team, and we understand Santos also has other technical team members he wants to come with."

Abha club move out of relegation zone

Sports Brief earlier reported that Abha Club moved out of the Saudi Pro League relegation zone following a crucial 2-1 victory over Al Khaleej on Thursday, May 23.

The South African tactician, who took over the club's reins in January, has orchestrated a remarkable transformation, guiding his team to a much-needed win.

The victory saw Abha climb to the 15th spot, with their survival hopes now firmly in their own hands.
