Serie A giants, Napoli, are still waiting for offers for Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, amid links with English Premier League sides, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Super Eagles star has been one of the best strikers in Europe since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020.

There has been growing interest in signing the Nigerian international since leading the Parthenopeans to their first Serie A title after over three decades in the 2022-23 season.

According to a report by Football Italia, Napoli are yet to receive an offer for Osimhen despite serious links with top European clubs.

The former Wolfsburg striker is said to have a release clause of €130 million (over £114 million) in his Napoli contract, which he extended in December.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are also interested in signing the Super Eagles striker, but Arsenal and Chelsea are ahead in the race.

The Blues are said to be ready to offer €90 million plus Romelu Lukaku and an unnamed player for the Nigerian, while the Gunners are also looking for a way to lower Napoli's asking price by offering Gabriel Jesus and cash.

Osimhen has struggled with injury for most of the 2023-24 season but managed to shine as he produced 17 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.

The 25-year-old also had a poor outing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring only one goal in seven appearances.

Arsenal legend wants Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported on Emmanuel Petit asking Arsenal to sign Osimhen from Napoli because they need a 30-goal striker to win the Premier League ahead of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Petit's endorsement comes at a crucial juncture for the North London club, having narrowly missed out on the Premier League title to the Citizens in the last two seasons.

The 1998 World Cup winner explained that the Nigerian striker has the qualities necessary to succeed in the league.
