Kaizer Chiefs are expected to enter the transfer market once more as they seek to improve their fortunes.

The Soweto-based side have not won a trophy since the 2014/15 season and could finish outside the top eight this season.

Iqraam Rayners has scored 14 goals this season in the league, including five in one game.

With a new coach guaranteed to take over, the club are also expected to bring in some new stars to help contest the DStv Premiership title.

Sports Brief looks at who that could be.

5 players Chiefs have been linked with

Veli Mothwa

The Chiefs’ struggles to win games have been well-documented this season.

This is partly because the Amakhosi have let in 28 goals in the league while only scoring 25.

Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma have both penned new deals, but the club are keeping their options open when it comes to bringing in a new number one,

Mothwa is a Bafana Bafana international who has kept 10 clean sheets for AmaZulu in the league this season.

Iqraam Rayners

The Stellenbosch FC striker has been in incredible form and is the talk of the town.

Rayners is in the running for the Golden Boot award, having scored 14 goals this season.

With Chiefs struggling to find the back of the net regularly, a proven scorer like the Stellies star could be the answer to their problems.

Rayners has no problem scoring goals and recently netted five times in one game.

Salim Magoola

Mothwa is not the only keeper that Chiefs are interested in.

The Glamour Boys have also been linked with Magoola, a Ugandan keeper who plays for Richards Bay.

The shot-stopper has kept seven clean sheets in the league this season, according to Transfermarkt.

Rushwin Dortley

While Chiefs might have only conceded 28 goals in 29 games, their defence has sometimes looked shaky.

As a result, they have been rumoured to be interested in Dortley.

The 22-year-old plays for Cape Town Spurs and is valued at € 250,000.

Ashley Cupido

Sticking with Spurs, the Glamour Boys are also interested in 23-year-old Cupido.

The striker has scored six goals for the struggling Capetonian side but also impressed in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

With Spurs returning to the first division, Cupido may consider joining a big team to remain in the premiership.

Chiefs linked with move for Nwabali

Kaizer Chiefs are also been linked with another keeper, Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali.

The Chippa United star has been in demand after his outings at AFCON this year.

Sports Brief reported a Saudi Pro League side were also interested signing him.
