Nicolas Jackson has joined the growing list of Chelsea players to send messages of support and appreciation to Mauricio Pochettino following his dismissal as head coach on May 21.

Chelsea dropped a bombshell just a few days after the 2023/2024 season ended, disclosing that they had chosen to part ways with the Argentine.

Pochettino was only in charge for one year. Despite finishing the season strongly and securing European football, the two parties decided it was best for them to go separate ways.

What Pochettino said after leaving Chelsea

"Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for the opportunity to be part of this football club's history. The club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come," said Pochettino in the club statement.

The news has seemingly not been taken too well by a couple of Chelsea players. Cole Palmer had recently stated that the playing unit was firmly behind the manager despite the inconsistent results at the start of the campaign.

Nicolas Jackson's reaction to Pochettino's dismissal

Jackson took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of him and Pochettino alongside some emojis of disappointment. The Senegalese forward also said;

"Love you, coach. I wish we could have stayed together more, but may God continue to bless you and your family. Thanks for the advice and support."

The 22-year-old was Chelsea's second-highest top scorer behind Palmer. He finished the season with 14 Premier League goals and five assists.

Managers who could replace Pochettino

Sports Brief has also reported on the potential list of managers who could replace Pochettino.

The club is said to be targeting a young manager to take over in time for preseason later in July.

Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna and Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi are among the leading candidates.
