Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, has been excluded from Gareth Southgate's provisional squad for England ahead of this summer's European Championship.
The 26-year-old, a regular fixture for the Three Lions since his debut in May 2016, did not make the 33-man squad, as announced on Tuesday, May 21
Rashford has struggled this season, scoring only eight goals in 42 games across all competitions, a stark contrast to his outstanding performance last season, according to Transfermarkt.

Why Rashford was dropped by England
Explaining his decision to drop the pacy winger, Southgate suggested that many players were performing better than Rashford, making his exclusion necessary.
“I just feel other players in that area of the pitch have had better seasons. That’s it,” the 53-year-old manager said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
Comparing Rashford to England's current attackers
Rashford has featured in various attacking roles this season, with 27 appearances as a left winger, 10 as a centre forward, and four as a right winger.
He was most effective on the left wing, scoring five goals and providing five assists, while his performance on the right was the least productive, with just one goal.
When compared to the current attackers in Southgate's squad, Rashford lags behind all but Jack Grealish and Ivan Toney (who played only 17 games due to an eight-month ban) in terms of goals scored.
