His two goals contributed to Pep Guardiola's side's 3-1 victory over West Ham, ultimately ensuring they finished two points ahead of their nearest rival, Arsenal.

Putting Foden's season in perspective

According to Eurosport, Foden's impressive tally of 19 goals and eight assists earned him the Premier League Player of the Season award.

The Englishman will have the chance to add more accolades to his already successful season when City face local rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, May 25.

However, in the Champions League, Foden and his Man City teammates fell short, being eliminated by Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.

The tightly contested tie, which saw both teams score four goals across two legs, was decided by a penalty shootout, with Madrid emerging victorious 4-3.

In the said games, Foden's performance was somewhat below his usual high standards, a testament to Real Madrid's effective tactics and the influence of veteran midfielder Toni Kroos.

Foden names his toughest opponent

He has since expressed his admiration for Kroos, labelling the Madrid midfield maestro as the toughest opponent he has faced all season.

"The most difficult player I have faced this season? Toni Kroos," he said, as quoted by Madrid Universal.

Foden expresses the desire to win more

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported on Phil Foden's continued excitement about winning after playing a key role in Manchester City's 3-1 victory against West Ham.

At just 23 years old, Foden has already been part of six title-winning seasons with City in the past seven years.

He reflected on this achievement, expressing his strong desire for success and stating that there's no better feeling than winning.

Foden also expressed his eagerness to keep winning as much as he can in the future.
