Mohammed Kudus ended his first Premier League season with a spectacular goal for West Ham United in their defeat that handed Manchester City the title.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old performed well throughout a difficult period for the club. He is happy with his season but feels there's another level he needs to reach.

Kudus arrived at West Ham last summer from Ajax as the club's second-most expensive player. He scored some great and important goals domestically and in Europe.

He matched last season's numbers with his bicycle kick against Man City on Sunday at the Etihad. The Black Star superstar bagged 18 goals and seven assists in 48 games this campaign, the same as his goal tally in the Netherlands last season.

"Thanks to the manager and everyone at the club. It's my first season but the staff, the players, the coaches, and everyone around the club helped me to settle in quite well. Big credit to myself also for believing in myself and putting in the effort day in and day out. So we can only get better," Kudus said via Ghana Soccernet.

The forward believes he can still hit another gear.

"I'm still far off how I see myself performing in this league and doing my best. It's good to get the first season on the run, but I have a long way to go and there is more stuff coming ahead."

Kudus and West Ham finished ninth in the Premier League with 52 points. They reached the quarter-final of the Europa League but lost to Bundesliga champions, Bayer Leverkusen.

Kudus scores spectacular goal vs Man City

As Sports Brief earlier reported, on Sunday, Kudus scored arguably his best goal of the season against Man City on the final day of the season.

With the eventual EPL champions leading 2-0 late in the first half, they failed to clear a corner kick and the Ghanaian thumped in a bicycle kick.

Unfortunately for Kudus and West Ham, they couldn't find another goal in the second half to get something out of the game for themselves.
