Sports Brief looks at the players who have lifted a league title this season and those who still could.

5 Nigerian stars who won league titles

Victor Boniface

The Super Eagles striker is now officially a Bundesliga champion.

Boniface’s season was affected by an injury, but he still netted 14 goals in 23 games in the league. He also notched up nine assists.

The Nigerian attacker could also help Xabi Alonso’s men secure the DFB Pokal and UEFA Europa League this season as well.

Nathan Tella

Like Boniface, Nathan Adewale Temitayo Tella is also a Bundesliga champion.

The right winger has scored five goals and notched up four assists already during Leverkusen’s unbeaten season.

As noted by talkSPORT, Tella opened up his journey from playing in the English Championship to now almost ending a season as part of a team of 'Invincibles'.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi

The Super Eagles pair will return to the English Premier League after Leicester City secured the promotion back to the big leagues.

The Foxes were relegated last season but will return to the Premier League after winning the EFL Championship.

Ndidi made 32 appearances in the league for the team and scored four goals, while Iheanacho played 23 games and scored five goals.

William Troost-Ekong

The Super Eagles captain is now a champion in Greece.

Troost-Ekong is part of the title-winning PAOK Thessaloniki side, as they won the Super League Greece.

The Nigerian defender joined the Greek side at the start of the season and made 10 appearances for them so far.

Raphael Onyedika

The defensive midfielder has won the Jupiler Pro League winner in Belgium.

Club Brugge played a goalless draw with Cercle Brugge in their final game to win the prize.

Boniface wins Rookie of the Year award

Sports Brief previously reported how Nigeria’s Boniface won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award.

The Super Eagles striker was honoured with the award for being the best newcomer in the German topflight.

Bayer Leverkusen took to social media to celebrate their striker, congratulating him on the award.
