Mohammed Kudus scored a spectacular overhead kick to reduce Manchester City's lead on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season.

The league leaders dominated the first half with two well-taken goals from Player of the Season, Phil Foden.

Despite that, Rodri sealed the win and the title for Pep Guardiola's side, who are now English champions for the fourth time in a row.

Foden scored after 78 seconds to give Man City a much-needed lead as they battle for the Premier League title on the final day.

The hosts dominated proceedings, but West Ham grew into the game as the half wore on. In the 42nd minute, they were awarded a corner and took full advantage of that opportunity.

A corner was fired in, and Kudus was in the right place to thump in a sensational bicycle kick to make things in the title race intriguing. The league leaders ended the half 2-1, a scoreline that gave Pep Guardiola a slight headache.

The champions went into the second half with renewed confidence, looking to put the result and the title beyond doubt.

The hosts upped the ante in the second with another dominant display. Kudus and West Ham struggled to contain Man City as they pushed for a third goal.

City's third goal came in the 59th minute, thanks to clever link-up play between Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. David Moyes thought they had scored late in the game, but Tomas Soucek's goal was ruled out for handball.

The game ended 3-1, and as soon as the ref blew the whistle, Man City fans stormed the pitch to celebrate another Premier League title.

Kudus awarded by West Ham

Sports Brief previously reported on Kudus winning West Ham's Goal of the Season award for 2023/24.

His goal against Luton Town won the award, but his strike against Man City could've won it if the ceremony had been held after today.

Addo urged to build around Kudus

Sports Brief also reported on Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan, urging new Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, to build his team around Kudus.

Gyan said Kudus is the only Ghanaian player doing incredibly well in Europe, and therefore, he has to be the focal point in Addo's team.
