Pep Guardiola has issued an update regarding his future at Manchester City ahead of the final day of the Premier League season.

The Spaniard is in a pole position to win his sixth Premier League title in eight years ahead of the final round of this season's fixtures.

City currently have a two-point advantage over second-placed Arsenal, with a win in their fixture against West Ham United enough to win them the crown.

According to Goal, the Citizens have won the title on the final day of the campaign five times in the past.

If they triumph this term, they will become the first English team to win the Premier League in four consecutive seasons.

Last season, they joined the likes of Manchester United among the few English teams to win a treble.

At the time, Guardiola helped his charges lift the Champions League for the first time in the club's history, as well as the FA Cup and the Premier League.

Guardiola gives update on his future

Despite his illustrious spell at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola has in the past faced an uncertain future with the club.

However, Sky Sports reports that in November 2022, the former Barcelona boss ended the speculation surrounding his future by penning a two-year new deal.

With only a year left on the contract, the 53-year-old has issued an update on his future with the Premier League giants.

"I have a contract, I want to be here next season whatever happens," Guardiola told a press conference.

Jurgen Klopp names Pep Guardiola the best

In other news, Sports Brief also reported on Jurgen Klopp naming Guardiola as the best manager in the world.

The German boss made the declaration ahead of his emotional Liverpool departure on Sunday, May 19.

Klopp is set to depart the Merseyside club after nine years at the helm of affairs at Anfield.
