Chuba Akpom is set to part ways with Ajax Amsterdam after one year with the Dutch giants following an underwhelming campaign in the Eredivisie for the striker.
The 28-year-old forward joined the former European champions last summer from English Championship side Middlesborough hoping to revive his career.
According to the Daily Post, Akpom, who is eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, struggled for regular time at Ajax this season and has been linked with a return to England in the summer.
The former Arsenal starlet is seeking regular playing time and Ajax insider, Lentin Goodijk, has revealed that the Nigerian-born striker could leave the club with some English teams being linked with the forward.

Akpom, who has a trophy haul of two FA Cup titles, One Greek Championship, and One Greek Cup Winners Cup, could cost up to €15m for any interested club willing to sign him.

Meanwhile, Akpom has expressed uncertainty about his future at Ajax after the end of the season but the striker is yet to decide on his future amid talks of his potential exit from the club, Soccernet reports.
The 28-year-old forward has 15 goals and two assists in 34 appearances for the Dutch club across all competitions, but most of those have come in as a substitute.
