The 2023/24 Premier League title is set to be decided on the final day of the season.

This is after Manchester City secured a 2-0 vital win over Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, May 14, to leapfrog Arsenal to the summit of the table.

City went into the tie knowing too well that a draw or a defeat would have Arsenal laying one hand on the domestic crown.

However, their victory now has them in control of the title race, as they have a two-point advantage over the Gunners going into the final round of fixtures.

Erling Haaland was the man of the moment against Tottenham, with the Norwegian striker netting twice in the second half to earn the Citizens maximum points.

According to Metro UK, the reigning champions will lift the EPL title again should they beat West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday.

Guardiola names West Ham trio that could hurt City

However, Guardiola is seemingly fully aware that the West Ham fixture won't be an easy one for his side.

The Spaniard has named three West Ham stars who he believes could stop City from claiming a historic fourth league title.

Speaking after the Tottenham clash, the tactician said:

"Now I’m calm but thinking [about Michail] Antonio, [Jarrod] Bowen, [James] Ward-Prowse."
"We know what we’re playing for. The tension is there, the rivalry is so good. It’s why it is difficult, we know that," he added.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are scheduled to play Everton in their final game of the season at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are hoping to end their 20-year wait for the domestic crown this season under Mikel Arteta.

Manchester City ready to write EPL history

Sports Brief also reported Rodri expressing confidence in City's readiness to make history again by aiming to become the first team to claim four consecutive English top-flight titles.

However, the Spanish midfielder cautioned against a recurrence of the dramatic final-day scenario from two years ago, where Liverpool were denied by a late City comeback.
