Senegal captain, Kalidou Koulibaly, has completed the takeover of French lower-tier side SC Sedan Ardennes.

The Al-Hilal centre-back travelled to France on Monday, where he was given a tour of the facilities as he begins the process of transforming the team into one of the best in the country.

Koulibaly and co-owner Teddy Pellerin met the Mayor of the City, Didier Herbillon, as well as Daniel Guérin, the President of the club, and Cédric Branz, the representative of Ardennes Métropole.

He became the second Senegalese to have a stake in a French club following Sadio Mane's acquisition of Bourges Club.

"One week after the official announcement of the project led by Teddy Pellerin and therefore Kalidou Koulibaly, the latter decided to honor us with his presence this Monday. A visit that shows and validates the player's interest," a statement on the club's official Facebook page read.
"Thank you to him for this friendly meeting with exclusively the members of the board of directors as well as Didier Herbillon, and elected officials. What followed was an express visit to the Sedan Fortified Castle accompanied by the mayor of the city."

Before travelling to Paris, Koulibaly and Al-Hilal wrapped up the Saudi Pro League title with a victory over Al-Hazm, as reported by Reuters.

Kalidou Koulibaly invests in French club

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal captain, Koulibaly, became the latest footballer to invest in a football club after joining the ownership of French lower-tier side, CS Sedan Ardennes.

The Al-Hilal defender follows in the footsteps of compatriot Sadio Mane, who bought French club Bourges Club last year.

Koulibaly will join Teddy Pellerin as owner of the club as he plans for life after football by starting his journey in the football business.

Koulibaly and Bono win SPL with Al-Hilal

Sports Brief also reported that Koulibaly and Yassine Bounou have won the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal.

The African duo played a pivotal role as the Saudi giants won the league with three games to spare, while also keeping their unbeaten run intact after 31 games.

Both players arrived last summer, with Koulibaly joining from Chelsea as Bounou signed from Sevilla.
