The owner of Romanian outfit FCSB, Gigi Becali, has likened the transfer of Siyabonga Ngezana to that of Diego Maradona.
Ngezana dumped Kaizer Chiefs for a €600,000 move to FCSB in July and has impressed the club owner who is proud of the deal.
The 26-year-old South African international has helped his new team to end a nine-year league drought.
FCSB have confirmed their status as the champions of the Romanian Super Lig 2023/2024 season and will now compete in Europe.

They will feature in the first round of the UEFA Champions League playoffs next season for a chance to qualify for the group stage.
Ngezana made an instant impact in Romania and attracted French club FC Lorient during the January transfer window, but FCSB reportedly turned down a €5 million offer and wanted €7 million.
Club owner Becali, who is active in technical decisions of the club admitted to Digi Sport that he never watched Ngezana before signing him, but he was told “he is Maradona”.
Becali said, as per iDiski Times:
“I am the scouting process. I’ll take it, you’re no good, go home! I also give you money.
“I didn’t see Ngezana, but MM [Stoica], he watched with Pintilii and Charalambous. He [Stoica] told me that ‘it’s Maradona’. He’s a good footballer.”
Ngezana featured in 31 matches in all competitions for his new side, helping the team to a clean sheet in 15 of them.

Pitso Mosimane linked with Kaizer Chiefs' job
Sports Brief earlier reported that former footballer Teko Modise explained what Pitso Mosimane would need from Kaizer Chiefs if he's named their new permanent manager.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns manager has been on Amakhosi's radar since they parted ways with Molefi Ntseki last year, but they are stuck with Cavin Johnson, who is coaching the team on an interim basis.
Johnson has failed to impress since taking over the dugout at Naturena, which has hindered his chances of clinching the job permanently.
