Arsenal's Bukayo Saka has opened up about his culinary preferences, and it's clear that his heart belongs to Nigerian cuisine.

The 22-year-old winger, born to Nigerian parents in London, has always been proud of his roots.

In a recent video, Saka was asked to choose between traditional Nigerian dishes and UK favourites, and he didn't hesitate to opt for the former.

When asked to choose between cauliflower cheese and jollof rice, the Gunners star chose the latter, citing his love for the flavourful staple.

He also preferred moin moin over scotch eggs, crediting his mother's cooking for his fondness for the dish.

“I like moin moin; it’s like beans, but it's just made in a different way. My mum puts a bit of fish when she makes it, and it’s really nice,” Saka said, as quoted by Soccernet.

While he does have a soft spot for UK treats like Twix chocolate and Love Hearts, his love for Nigerian food is undeniable. He is a big fan of plantain chips and has previously named jollof rice and plantain among his favourite delicacies.

The Arsenal star's journey to prominence began in 2018 under Unai Emery's management, culminating in significant contributions to the team's success, including winning the FA Cup under Mikel Arteta.

Saka was eligible to play for the African country before pledging his allegiance to England, where he debuted in October 2020, as per the England Football website.

Karim Adeyemi's favourite Nigerian food

Sports Brief reported that Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi, named his favourite Nigerian food.

Adeyemi credited his diet with increasing his speed after he outpaced Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez in a Champions League game last season.

The German claimed fufu was his favourite food, and he had been videoed feasting on it a couple of times.
