Former Liverpool star, Don Hutchinson, has warned Chelsea target, Michael Olise, to steer clear of a summer move to Manchester United.

Olise, who has been linked to several top clubs, including Manchester City, would be better off choosing a manager who can bring out the best in him, according to Hutchinson.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, he cautioned that a move to Old Trafford could stifle his growth, citing the team's current struggles and lack of cohesion.

Instead, he recommended that the Nigerian join Man City, where Pep Guardiola's tutelage would help him reach new heights.

“I think he would just get lost. I think he would get lost at Man United, a team with poor players and he might end up playing poorly, whereas if you go somewhere for the manager, like play under Pep, he is going to make you better,” he said, as reported by Daily Post.

With his impressive record of 14 goals and 21 assists in 81 appearances, he is a hot commodity in the summer transfer market.

Amid preparations for a significant squad overhaul, Erik ten Hag has reportedly identified the French youth international as a potential catalyst for restoring the club's former glory, per ESPN.

Olise is being eyed as a replacement for Antony, whose performances since joining the club have fallen short of expectations. Although discussions are said to be at an early stage, Man United's proactive stance could prompt other interested parties to accelerate their efforts.

Five players Manchester United are targeting

Sports Brief also listed five players Man United intended to sign in the upcoming transfer window.

Erik ten Hag has reportedly drawn up a transfer shortlist of players he wants the club to target.

United have endured a mixed run of form and have struggled for consistent results this season.
