Senegalese forward, Nicolas Jackson continued his rich run of form after netting for the third game running as Chelsea defeated Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon at the City Grounds.

Jackson, who has been under massive pressure for wasting chances for most part of the campaign, has suddenly become the main man for the Blues in recent matches.

The former Villareal forward scored in the victories over Tottenham Hotspurs and West Ham United before netting the winner against Nottingham.

Jackson rose high to head home from a Reece James cross as Chelsea recovered 2-1 to win the game 3-2.

Chelsea got off to a bright start after Mykhailo Mudryk finished off a brilliant pass from Cole Palmer but the host responded before half-time through Ivorian defender Wily Boy, who headed a Morgan Gibbs-White cross.

After the break, former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi gave Nottingham the lead to boost their hopes of survival, momentarily.

However, second-half substitute Raheem Sterling levelled for the Blues before Jackson snatched a late winner for Chelsea.

The victory keeps Chelsea's hopes of finishing in the top six place with two games remaining.

Jackson discloses Champions League ambition

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea forward, Nicolas Jackson disclosed his dreams of playing in the UEFA Champions League.

The Blues missed out on qualifying for Europe's elite competition after a difficult campaign, which has seen the London club out of continental football places this season.

With four games remaining, the Blues could rally for a European spot with places for the Europa League and the Conference League still in sight despite being contested for by four clubs including Manchester United.

Jackson opens up on VAR frustration

Sports Brief also reported that Nicolas Jackson shared his excitement after netting a brace in Chelsea's 5-0 demolishing of West Ham United in the English Premier League on May 5, 2024.

The Senegal forward is, however, frustrated by the interference of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) every time he scores.

Having been criticised for most parts of the campaign for being wasteful, Jackson seems to have found his goal-scoring boots, netting in back-to-back games for the Blues.
