Chelsea’s proposed interest in Victor Osimhen is being threatened with a deal for the Nigerian forward looking more likely not to happen in this summer transfer window.
The Blues are in a neck-to-neck race with Paris Saint-Germain for the 25-year-old forward but it appears the price tag of the Napoli frontman could force the Premier League club out of pursuing the deal.
According to Soccernet, Chelsea are unwilling to spend crazy money to sign Osimhen, who is expected to demand a huge salary and hefty commission if he is to join the club in the transfer window.
The Super Eagles striker signed a new deal with Napoli late last year in which a release clause of about €130 million was inserted in the contract and the Italian club are unwilling to accept any offer less than his asking price.

PSG end €130m Osimhen chase
Meanwhile, PSG appeared to have ended their interest in Super Eagles striker Osimhen and will instead try to sign the Nigerian forward’s Napoli teammate Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, Punch NG reports.
The Ligue 1 champions apparently have had a change of heart in searching for Kylian Mbappe’s heir at the club and will try to sign the Georgian winger from Napoli instead of their first-choice Osimhen.
Mbappe confirmed on Friday, May 10, that he will be leaving the Parisians at the end of the season and PSG has been desperate to find his replacement before the transfer window opens.

FootballChelsea warned to stay off Osimhen
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea legend, Emmanuel Petit, wants the Premier League club to stop pursuing a deal for Osimhen and Newcastle frontman Alexander Isak this summer.
Petit has cited Nicolas Jackson's promising performances for the Blues in the later stage of the season as a reason to prioritize internal talent over new signings for the club's striking position.
The Frenchman stressed the importance of maintaining faith in Jackson's abilities, particularly after the forward's impressive debut season following last summer’s switch from Villareal.
