Arsenal are in high-flying form at the moment and possess the capabilities to dismantle Manchester United, who have fallen to eighth place in the Premier League standings.

After being on the receiving end of three or more goals from Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Coventry City this season, the Red Devils could face further humiliation if Arsenal adds to their woes.

However, a glance at Arsenal's historical performance at Old Trafford suggests exercising greater caution before Sunday's visit.

The lone Premier League fixture on Sunday features a showdown between two English football giants at The Theatre of Dreams, with Erik ten Hag's side hosting Mikel Arteta's men at their deteriorating stronghold.

Arsenal's record at Old Trafford

Arsenal have secured victory only once in their last 16 visits to the stadium, enduring 10 defeats and settling for five draws.

Since 2006, they have registered only one league win in the stadium. The North London side won at Old Trafford twice in the 1990s and once in the 1980s, per The Guardian.

Some of their visits to the ground have been embarrassing too: they've lost 8-2, 6-1, and 4-0.

Nevertheless, the Gunners have seen better days at Old Trafford. Sylvain Wiltord's goal at the stadium in 2002 gave Arsenal a hard-fought 1-0 win, which sealed the Premier League title.

Since that win, the North Londoners have won two league matches at Old Trafford, in 2006 and 2020.

Even Liverpool, known for their dominance, struggled at the venue, managing only a 1-1 draw this season.

The Gunners are in dire need of a victory against Man United and must win their final league fixture to clinch the title.

Should they falter, Manchester City already have an extra game to capitalise on.

Adebayor backs Man City

Sports Brief also previously reported on Adebayor tipping Man City to win the Premier League title over Arsenal.

The retired striker highlighted the Gunners' defeat to Aston Villa as evidence that his former side would not win.
