Former Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has recommended that Chelsea reconsider their interest in Victor Osimhen and Alexander Isak.

He has cited Nicolas Jackson's promising performances as a reason to prioritise internal talent over new signings for the Blues' striking position.

The Frenchman stressed the importance of maintaining faith in Jackson's abilities, particularly after the forward's impressive debut season.

Despite having Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea are reportedly looking at signing Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak.

"Chelsea do not need Osimhen or Isak. We all know about the No. 9 curse at Chelsea, and in the last couple of months, we’ve seen what Jackson can do. There’s no need to put more pressure on him by signing someone like Isak on his back," the 53-year-old said, as reported by Afrik Foot.

The Senegalese youngster, who has netted 16 goals and provided five assists in more than 30 appearances, has quickly become a key figure in Mauricio Pochettino's attacking line-up.

Petit believes that investing in Jackson's development will benefit the club in the long run and send a positive message to other young players within the squad.

He acknowledged the allure of signing established talents but cautioned against overlooking the potential consequences for the 22-year-old's growth.

The Blues legend also argued that introducing additional competition for the striker position could hinder Jackson's confidence and stunt his progress.

As per ESPN, the London club reportedly sent a swap deal proposal to Napoli for Osimhen, including €90 million, Romelu Lukaku, and another young player.

Albanian agent predicts Osimhen’s next move

Sports Brief also reported that Albanian agent, Serxhio Mezi, indicated a strong possibility of Osimhen moving to PSG during the summer transfer window.

It's been reported that the Ligue 1 champions are prepared to offer €90 million, but Napoli is adamant about receiving the forward's full release clause.

Club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, asserted that the former Serie A champions would not succumb to pressure to sell one of its marquee superstars.
