Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has responded to Thomas Tuchel and Bayern Munich's assertions regarding a contentious offside decision during Wednesday's Champions League semi-final clash.

Los Blancos clinched a 2-1 victory on the night and a 4-3 aggregate win over the Bavarians, securing a spot in the final of Europe's premier club competition.

However, their journey to the Grand Finale was marred by controversy. A late goal by Bayern defender Matthijs de Ligt was disallowed due to offside.

Real Madrid saved by controversial offside call

With Madrid leading 2-1 after mounting a comeback with two late goals, Joshua Kimmich delivered a long pass that Thomas Mueller headed centrally, allowing de Ligt to score in the 12th minute of stoppage time, per ESPN.

Despite the goal, the linesman raised his flag before the ball nestled at the back of the net, nullifying the goal before a VAR review could take place.

Bayern coach Tuchel expressed his frustration with the decision after the match, describing it as "a disaster, an absolute disaster."

Ancelotti claps back at Bayern's offside claim

While Tuchel believes the officials were unfair with their judgement, his opposite number in the Madrid dugout, Ancelotti, offered a firm rebuttal to the offside claims.

The veteran Italian coach, set to make a record-extending sixth appearance in the Champions League final when Madrid faces Dortmund, not only disagreed with Bayern's assertions but also highlighted instances where he believed decisions should have favoured his team.

Ancelotti argued that Nacho Fernandes' goal, disallowed after a VAR review due to a foul on Joshua Kimmich, should have stood.

Furthermore, the 64-year-old suggested that Kimmich exaggerated contact to gain favour with the officials.

"Bayern complained about the offside? OK, then we complain about the cancelled goal of Nacho and Kimmich. Kimmich dived," he said as quoted by MadridXtra.

Neuer bemoans 'bitter' mistake vs Madrid

Sports Brief also reported that Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer described his late Champions League semi-final mistake against Real Madrid as "extremely bitter" after his team was eliminated from the tournament.

In a crucial moment, Vinicius Junior unleashed a seemingly straightforward shot from outside the box.

Despite Neuer's impressive series of acrobatic saves throughout the match, he failed to hold onto the ball, allowing Joselu to capitalise and equalise the score.
