Borussia Dortmund produced an incredible performance to beat Paris Saint-Germain home and away to qualify for the 2023/2024 Champions League final.

A header from Mats Hummels early in the second half was enough for the German side to win 2-0 on aggregate after a similar scoreline at Signal Iduna last week.

Dortmund's journey to Champions League final

Edin Terzic's side were the underdogs throughout the competition but are now set to face one of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final.

They topped the 'group of death' alongside PSG, AC Milan, and the returning Newcastle United, earning them a Round of 16 clash against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. Afterwards, they beat Atletico Madrid in a dramatic game that ended 5-4.

What Dortmund posted after beating PSG

The 2013 finalists got their revenge against PSG with their win on May 7. In 2020, the two sides met in the Round of 16, with Dortmund winning the first leg 2-1 courtesy of an Erling Haaland brace, as captured on UEFA's website.

The return leg was played at Parc des Princes without fans at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Goals from Neymar and Juan Bernat helped the French side overturn the deficit and advance to the last 8.

After winning, the Parisians celebrated by imitating Haaland's famous 'meditation' celebration with the caption '...and breathe.'

After knocking out the Qatar-owned club, Dortmund's admin reposted the PSG post from four years ago and captioned it with 'Tastes like fine wine'.

France is known for its rich assortment of wine.

Mbappe breaks silence on UCL exit

Sports Brief has also reported that Kylian Mbappe spoke about PSG's elimination from the Champions League.

The pacy forward failed to help his side beat Borussia Dortmund, blanking in both games amid a resolute defensive performance from the German side.

This was expected to be Mbappe's last hurrah with the French side ahead of an expected move to Real Madrid this summer.
