Nicolas Jackson has been silencing his doubters in the last few weeks.

The Chelsea striker has registered 13 Premier League goals this season, a decent return in a turbulent 2023/24 season at the club.

On Sunday, he scored a brace in Chelsea's 5-0 win against West Ham, drawing applause from his teammates, including Cole Palmer.

The Senegal star produced many forgettable performances in his first season in a Blues shirt. Goals were scarce, and finishing was erratic for someone signed to score.

His inconsistent performances elicited relentless criticisms from fans, mainly on social media. However, in the last few weeks, it seems he has turned a corner.

His brace took his tally to 13 in the English top flight and 16 in all competitions, per Transfermarkt. On Sunday, he was on fire against West Ham, and his teammates were delighted.

Chelsea stars saluted their teammate on Instagram. Palmer, Conor Gallagher, Noni Madueke, Moises Caicedo, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marc Cucurella commented on his Instagram post.

Palmer wrote, "Class bro," Madueke added, "My 9." Senegal legend, El-Hadji Diouf, also commented on Jackson's post.

"Just the beginning, true Lion. More and more," the former Liverpool star said.

Jackson has scored the same number of goals as Napoli and Nigeria star, Victor Osimhen. Only Palmer has scored more goals than Jackson for Chelsea this season.

Demba Ba's message to Jackson

Sports Brief earlier reported on former Chelsea star, Demba Ba, sending a message of support to Jackson.

The Senegalese criticised the reactionary take in the football world, while also backing Jackson to achieve more success.

Jackson matches Drogba's tally

Sports Brief also reported on Jackson matching Didier Drogba's 2004/05 tally for Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast legend bagged 16 goals that season, the same as Jackson's tally this season. The young striker can pass that mark in the remaining matches.

Drogba won the Premier League that season before he became one of the building blocks in one of English football's greatest dynasties.
