Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson, has had an indifferent season in the Premier League. The Senegalese has done incredibly well, but some of his have raised several pertinent questions.

Against West Ham United on Sunday, May 5, the striker scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season, meaning he has more non-penalty goals than several top stars in the league.

Jackson arrived in England with high expectations, and he showcased his talent in Chelsea's first game, an entertaining 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old scored his first league goal in his team's third game against Luton Town. After that, his finishing became more pronounced, and fans got impatient.

He scored seven goals in the first half of the season. His poor form coincided with Chelsea's awful run of results.

In March this year, his form began to picked up. He hadn't scored a league goal since mid-December but has bagged seven since early March, per Transfermarkt.

Jackson surpasses Havertz, Palmer

All of Jackson's Premier League goals have come from open play, more than Mohamed Salah, Kai Havertz, and his teammate, Cole Palmer.

Palmer has scored 21 league goals this season, but nine are penalties. Chelsea have been awarded 12 penalties and scored 11 penalties. Noni Madueke and Enzo Fernandez scored the two other penalties.

Meanwhile, Salah has scored 18 league goals this season, five of them penalties.

Havertz is also enjoying a terrific season at Arsenal. The German is spearheading the Gunners' attack and has scored 12 Premier League goals, including one penalty.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland, the leading top scorer (25), has scored six penalties this season.

At 22, Jackson is having a decent season despite his struggles.

Jackson matches Drogba's tally

Sports Brief also previously reported on Jackson matching Didier Drogba's 2004/05 tally for Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast and Blues legend scored 16 goals that season, the same as Jackson's tally this season.
