Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has heaped praise on Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, following his recent outstanding performances for Atalanta.

The 26-year-old, who made a €9.35 million move from RB Leipzig to Atalanta in 2022, has seamlessly adapted to life in Italy after previous spells at Everton, Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City.

This season, he has been in scintillating form, notching up 11 goals and seven assists in 37 appearances for La Dea.

His recent exploits, including two goals and three assists in his last three outings, have caught the attention of football enthusiasts worldwide.

Former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh, in particular, expressed his admiration for Lookman's prowess, labelling him as "unstoppable" on his best days.

"Ademola Lookman is simply unstoppable on a good day. Love watching this man play!" Oliseh posted on his X handle.

As Atalanta vies for a top-four finish in Serie A to secure a UEFA Champions League spot, Lookman's contributions have become increasingly crucial. With just four matches remaining, the club is sixth, trailing AS Roma by two points.

However, as reported by Football Italia, a recent 2-0 victory over Empoli bolstered their chances of making the top four.

The Nigerian, buoyed by Atalanta's recent successes, is optimistic about their prospects.

“This victory (against Empoli) is very important because we have to reach the Champions League. We also have commitments in the Italian Cup and the Europa League, so winning today was important. Roma are a strong team, but so are we. We know that every match is difficult, but we are ready to try to win them all," he said, as quoted by the Daily Post.

Lookman Joins elite Serie A group

Sports Brief reported that Lookman matched a notable Serie A record with two assists in their 2-1 victory over Monza at the Brianteo Stadium on Sunday, April 21.

He had returned to Gian Piero Gasperini's starting lineup after four games on the sidelines and was paired with El Bilal Toure in attack.

The winger delivered a well-placed cross from a corner for Charles De Ketelaere to convert.
