Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers rubbed salt into Chelsea's wounds by mimicking Cole Palmer's 'shiver' goal celebration on Saturday, April 27.

After scoring his second Premier League goal of the season, the young English forward subtly mocked Palmer with his celebratory gesture.

While Chelsea conceded an early goal through a Marc Cucurella own goal in the fourth minute, Rogers' strike in the 42nd minute further compounded their woes.

Morgan Rogers hits Palmer's 'cold' celebration

According to Chelsea News, the 21-year-old's goal was quickly followed by Cole Palmer's signature 'cold' celebration, a move that has become iconic for the former Manchester City attacker.

Morgan, who once shared the Man City academy with Palmer, replicated the 'cold' celebration after netting against Chelsea at Villa Park.

What is Palmer's 'cold' celebration?

According to GOAL, Palmer boasts a variety of celebrations, but none have become as closely associated with him as the 'shiver' or 'cold' pose. This signature move sees him rubbing his arms as if warding off wintry chills.

His calm demeanour when scoring has led to the affectionate nickname "Cold Palmer," cleverly playing on his first name.

Surprisingly, Palmer revealed that he adopted the celebration from his ex-Man City teammate Morgan Rogers, who initially showcased it after scoring against Middlesbrough during their days with the Sky Blues.

Palmer blanks but Chelsea fight back to draw

In the said game, Sports Brief reported that a resolute Chelsea displayed newfound resilience as they clawed back from a two-goal deficit to thwart Aston Villa's top-four aspirations in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Despite trailing to Marc Cucurella's early own goal and a strike from Morgan Rogers before halftime at Villa Park, Mauricio Pochettino's men refused to surrender.

In a stark contrast to their previous 5-0 defeat to Arsenal, the Blues demonstrated determination, securing a hard-fought point courtesy of goals from Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher.
