Orlando Pirates coach, Jose Riveiro, has reiterated his commitment to trusting the process over simply chasing results.

Pirates continued their impressive run on Saturday, April 20, at the Orlando Stadium, outplaying a 10-man AmaZulu and climbing to second place in the DStv Premiership.

The Sea Robbers are now unbeaten in four league and Nedbank Cup outings, with three wins and a draw.

Riveiro's side have also scored 13 goals while conceding just four.

The Spaniard admitted that the team's display was not as well-ordered as in the previous two outings, but was proud of the results.

“We need to do it the way we want to, playing the football we want to play and everything else is a consequence. We don't play for the result. The results are the consequence of doing things better than the opponent, and, recently, we've managed to do it. We probably didn't play like in the last two or three games, but I am even more happy today than in the previous games because we managed to be extremely competitive and kept a clean sheet," he explained, as quoted by Times Live.

Despite his team's recent prolific scoring form, Riveiro openly acknowledged and accepted criticism. The Buccaneers have encountered mixed fortunes since resuming play in 2024. While they have shown promise by securing a spot in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, they have also faced significant setbacks.

As reported by iDiski Times, the coach acknowledged the significance of constructive criticism in maintaining motivation and progress within a highly competitive environment.
