Lionel Messi is now only 10 goals away from becoming Inter Miami's all-time leading goal scorer.

The Argentina international has enjoyed an impressive start to life since he sealed his sensational move to the Major League Soccer club.

The 36-year-old joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 after departing Paris Saint-Germain upon the expiry of his deal with the French giants.

According to Sky Sports, Messi joined the David Beckham-owned side on a two-year deal, which will run until 2025.

The move ended the veteran forward's illustrious career in Europe, which saw him win multiple titles with both PSG and Barcelona.

Messi 10 goals away from achieving Inter Miami feat

The Argentine is now on course to becoming an Inter Miami legend, thanks to his hot start to life at the club.

ESPN reports that the 2022 World Cup winner is just 10 goals away from becoming the Florida-based outfit's all-time leading scorer.

This comes after Messi scored twice in his side's 3-1 win over Nashville this weekend.

The brace took his tally to 20 goals for his new club in 23 matches, just nine goals behind Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain, Inter Miami's all-time top scorer, netted 29 goals in 70 games before he retired.

Leonardo Campana is placed second on the leading goal scorers' chart, with 25 goals in his name after 73 games.

Messi will be hoping to add to his tally when his side take on New England on Sunday, April 28.
