Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Cole Palmer holds no grudges ahead of facing his former club, Manchester City, for the third time today since leaving in the summer.
Palmer joined Chelsea on the summer transfer deadline day for £42.5 million, leaving his boyhood club after 15 years in search of regular first-team football.
Per Football365, his move to Chelsea could have been impossible if it had been left to manager Pochettino, who admitted the signing was the idea of the owners and the sporting group.
He would be grateful the hierarchy pushed for the player as he had been the difference maker, and the team could have been worse off without the talented youngster.

Palmer grateful to Pep Guardiola
It's typical of players, particularly young players, to want to prove a point to their former sides who failed to give them regular minutes when they moved elsewhere.
This is not true of Palmer, as he remains grateful to his boyhood club, as Pochettino confirmed during his pre-match conference.
“He is very grateful for Manchester City, for Pep Guardiola. He always speaks very highly about Manchester City and Pep. He’s not this type of player to have something inside,” he said via Daily Star.
“He understood perfectly that maybe for different reasons, he wanted to prove himself in a different club. I think today we say thank you also to Manchester City for giving the possibility to move to another club.”
He netted a late penalty to grab a point for the Blues in the 4-4 draw in the Premier League first-leg tie at Stamford Bridge and was pivotal in the 1-1 draw at the Etihad as well.

Guardiola explains why Palmer left
Sports Brief reported on Guardiola explaining why Palmer left Man City in the summer after he was quizzed for the millionth time on the attacker's departure.
The manager confirmed the player wanted a two-year loan despite his insistence on staying and being the successor to Riyad Mahrez, who left for Saudi Arabia.
