Top 5 Chelsea players loaned to Vitesse
1. Nemanja Matic
Matic signed for Chelsea in 2009 and spent the 2010/11 season in the Netherlands. His impressive loan got him a permanent switch to Benfica. He returned to London in 2014 and won two Premier League titles at Stamford Bridge. He currently plays for Olympique Lyon in France.
2. Mason Mount
The English midfielder was one of Chelsea's best players at the Dutch club. He spent the 2017/18 season on loan in the Eredivisie and was named the club's player of the season. Another loan under Frank Lampard at Derby County eased his path into the first team.
3. Christian Atsu
The former Ghanaian international went on five loans before leaving Chelsea permanently in 2017, the first of which was at Vitesse. His performances at the club only earned him further loans. He tragically passed away last year during the earthquake in Turkey.
