Despite Kevin De Bruyne breaching the Madrid line anchored by Rudiger, the Spanish giants maintained their composure as the match extended into extra time and ultimately culminated in a dramatic penalty shootout.

While the German star is renowned for his tenacity in defence, it was his clinical finishing prowess that ultimately sealed the victory for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

The 31-year-old confidently dispatched the final penalty, delivering a crushing blow to the defending champions in front of an expectant crowd at the Etihad Stadium, per The Guardian.

His spot kick found the back of the net beyond the outstretched arms of goalkeeper, Ederson Moraes.

Following his decisive contribution, the resolute centre-half appeared to attribute the achievement to a higher power, offering praise to Allah (God) as Real Madrid secured their fourth consecutive appearance in the Champions League semi-finals, as noted by Diario AS.

In a video making the rounds on social media, spotted by Sports Brief, Rudiger expressed gratitude to his maker with the chant of Allahu Akbar (God is the greatest) while pointing to the heavens, celebrating Madrid's qualification in a moment of spiritual reflection.

Sports Brief also reported that Jude Bellingham praised Real Madrid's strong mentality as they triumphed in a penalty shoot-out to eliminate Manchester City from the Champions League.

The English superstar, who contributed to Los Blancos' 4-3 post-match penalty win, attributed his team's success to coach Carlo Ancelotti's instilled belief and resilience under pressure.
