Amidst these swirling rumours, a report from Italian media outlet TuttoSport suggests that Serie A powerhouse Juventus is also interested in acquiring the 27-year-old.

With these developments in mind, Sports Brief takes a closer look at the array of teams vying for the midfielder's signature in the upcoming transfer window.

European clubs interested in signing Ndidi

Juventus

The Old Lady have recently entered the fray of teams eyeing Ndidi. The Serie A powerhouse is keen on fortifying their midfield for the upcoming season, addressing the weaknesses and lack of depth that have proved costly on several occasions this campaign.

Juventus are currently enduring a spell of poor form, with defensive vulnerabilities being a glaring issue contributing to their instability. The acquisition of the Nigerian midfielder would undoubtedly strengthen Juventus' defensive midfield options and offer added defensive cover to the team. Additionally, Ndidi's versatility allows him to excel in the central defender role when called upon.

Barcelona

The Catalan giants have been without a fitting defensive midfielder since the departure of Sergio Busquets in 2023. The signing of Oriol Romeu has failed to adequately cover for the departure of the veteran Spanish midfielder. However, while Ndidi might not be the player with the perfect profile to replace Busquets, the Nigerian will definitely offer the La Liga side a different quality in defensive midfield that would definitely prove beneficial to the club.

Tottenham

Ndidi is also on the radar of a North London club, among other Premier League sides. Ange Postecoglou’s team is keen to add depth to their current midfield strength, and the Nigerian could just be the perfect fit to offer them that.

Ndidi will offer Spurs a combative midfield presence, a quality the team once boasted of with former star, Mousa Dembele.

Galatasaray

The Turkish Super Lig giants are also on the lookout to sign the Nigerian. Okan Buruk’s side could use the addition of an extra defensive midfielder, especially considering the fact that French midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, has failed to meet the expectations many had of him when he was signed.

While it is difficult to predict how Ndidi's transfer future will unfold, it is worth highlighting that his seven-year tenure at the King Power Stadium seems to be coming to an end.

Osimhen, Boniface’s duo to spell trouble for Super Eagles

In another report, Sports Brief highlighted former Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose's warning, about the duo of Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface potentially causing trouble for the Nigerian team.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner emphasised the potential challenges the duo's improved form could pose for the national team coach.
