Highlights of Jadon Sancho during the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid are going viral.

The German outfit reached the last four of Europe’s elite club competition on Tuesday, April 16, at the expense of their Spanish counterparts, who surrendered a 2-1 first-leg lead to lose 5-4 on aggregate.

In a thrilling match at the Signal Iduna Park, both teams tested each other out, but it was the home side who quickly turned the tie around through Julian Brandt and Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen’s goals.

According to BBC, Atletico made 3- 3 on aggregate through Mario Hermoso’s header which deflected in off Mats Hummels just moments into the second half, and Diego Simeone’s side briefly retook control of the tie when Angel Correa smashed in a rebound in the 64th minute.

There was more drama in the game as Niclas Fullkrug levelled the tie once again, and less than three minutes later, Sabitzer scored what proved to be the winner.

Sancho’s highlights go viral

After the game, Sancho became a trending topic on social media, with fans unanimously praising his overall performance.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, the on-loan star was a consistent threat and showed great confidence on the ball down the flank.

Notably, he played a crucial role in Dortmund’s second goal, scored by Maatsen.

A number of Dortmund attacks revolved around the 24-year-old, who was not afraid to take on defenders in a one-on-one situation.

Since recovering from a muscular problem, Sancho has been an integral member of Edin Terzic’s team.

He has featured in all knockout games for the German club, playing the full 90 minutes against Atletico Madrid in the first leg.

Will Sancho return to Manchester United?

At the moment, Sancho’s future is still up in the air after a sensational fallout with Erik ten Hag in 2023.

According to GOAL, however, latest reports suggest the winger is willing to embark on a fresh start at Old Trafford, provided the club cuts ties with Ten Hag.

Mbappe winds up Barca fans

Still in Champions League news, Sports Brief reported on how Kylian Mbappe wound up Barcelona fans after PSG’s impressive comeback win.

The Parisians advanced to the last four of the competition at the expense of the Catalan giants on Tuesday, coming from behind to win 4-1.

Throughout the match at the Olympic Stadium Lluis Companys, Mbappe was consistently subjected to jeers from Barca fans.
