Italian journalist, Gianluca Gifuni, has criticised Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, despite scoring in Napoli's draw against Frosinone in the Serie A over the weekend.

Napoli's loanee Walid Cheddira scored a brace for Frosinone, preventing his parent club from moving ahead of Atalanta on the league table.

Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored for Napoli, but it was not enough to seal all three points.

The Super Eagles striker had a poor game overall. He missed a couple of chances that later proved costly for the Parthenopeans.

During an interview with Televomero, as per All Nigeria Soccer, Gifuni blasts the Nigerian international for being the worst player on the pitch for Napoli.

"Maradona's match could have ended 6-3 for the Azzurri," he said.
"However, I don't think I have heard any criticism of Osimhen. The Nigerian striker's mistakes in front of the goal are worth as much as those made by Rrahmani in defence if not more.
"He should be the driving force and help the team, but he misses trivial goals in front of the goalkeeper. If he isn't there, everyone is bad, but he was the worst. Calzona puts the team on the pitch well, but what's missing is everything else."

Manchester United intensify Osimhen's chase

Sports Brief earlier reported that Manchester United have intensified Osimhen's chase after their 2-2 draw against Bournemouth in the English Premier League over the weekend.

The Red Devils have been struggling to score goals this season despite signing Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta last summer, with the Dane having gone over two months without scoring.

Erik Ten Hag's side faces reported competition from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain for the services of the Nigerian superstar.
