However, despite moving to a seemingly less competitive league, Lingard has experienced a rocky start to life with his new club.
His short spell so far has been rigged with waves of criticism from his own manager Kim Gi-D, who is losing patience with the former West Ham man for his lack of match fitness.
According to talkSPORT, Lingard has made just three appearances for FC Seoul and played a total of 103 minutes of football with no goals or assists.
Lingard’s Instagram update
On Saturday, April 13, Lingard shared a post on his Instagram, updating his followers that he had undergone a successful surgery.
“Successful surgery on my meniscus , thank you for all the messages ❤️ everything happens for a reason,” he wrote on the caption.
Lingard signed a two-year at FC Seoul, meaning he still has plenty of time to get his career back in the right direction.
However, he will have to really impress his manager, who has openly criticised him for his past performances.
The FC Seoul manager recently handed the £17,000 a stinging rebuke after a game against Jeju United.
