Lionel Messi's bodyguard once again displayed his impressive awareness to stop a pitch invader during Inter Miami's game against Sporting KC on April 14.

Messi captained his side in the Major League Soccer game at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas. The Herons were looking to bounce back from the disappointment of crashing out of the Concacaf Champions Cup in midweek.

Sporting KC vs Inter Miami match report

The Argentine star was in the mood, setting up Diego Gomez for the equaliser in the 18th minute after Erik Thommy had put the hosts ahead after just six minutes.

Messi then scored a stunner in the 51st minute. He took the ball outside the area before unleashing a shot from way out that Tim Melia in the KC goal could do nothing about. Thommy pegged back Tata Martino's side again, but Luis Suarez bagged the third goal to secure the three valuable points.

Messi's bodyguard excites fans

Away from the on-pitch action, Messi's bodyguard stole the headlines again after he rushed into the field to stop a pitch invader. Yassine Cheuko interrupted the game and made a beeline for the record Ballon d'Or winner, as shown in a viral video on social media.

Cheuko got there before the other stewards.

@Basheer said,

"They said he’s faster than Suarez,"

@quizoxyl said,

"I’ve seen enough; put him in the starting XI."

While @RunkeeGlenn said,

"Messi actually has to protect the fans from him."

The win took the David Beckham-owned side back to the top of the Eastern Conference. They will play Nashville at the Chase Stadium next weekend.

Messi protects girl from stewards

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Messi protected a young girl from stewards. The girl has invaded the pitch in a bid to get a selfie with the 2022 World Cup winner.

Messi granted her request before swinging her to his side to prevent one of the stewards from getting to her.
