He has now surpassed legendary German forward Mario Gomez, who scored 24 goals in the 2007/08 season for Stuttgart. Guirassy equaled that record after netting the winner against Borussia Dortmund last week.
"Of course, I am proud of this number. Like you saw in Dortmund, I did a Mario Gomez celebration and that was a tribute for him," he told Sporty TV after the game.
"Today, I overtook him. Of course, I am proud. Everybody knows how good Mario Gomez is. I am proud and happy because we also won the game," he added.
Guirassy has now netted 27 goals across all competitions for the German outfit.
Meanwhile, Stuttgart could be making a return to the UEFA Champions League as they sit comfortably in third position in the Bundesliga.
"We have to stay focused. There are four or five games left so yes we have to be focused, everything can happen fast. Today is a very good game because we won at home," said Guirassy.
The Arles-born striker joined Stuttgart on a permanent deal from Stade Rennais.
