Scheduled for April 19, the awards will recognize outstanding performances from January 1 to December 31, 2023.

Mokwena, instrumental in the Brazilians' attainment of their sixth consecutive domestic league title and the African Football League trophy, enjoyed an undefeated streak throughout 2023, overseeing 31 league encounters and 65 matches overall with remarkable tactical prowess, as reported by iDiski Times.

Similarly, Ramoreboli steered Galaxy to victory in the Botswana Premier League and secured a place in the CAF Champions League group stages, notably defeating Orlando Pirates and securing a memorable 1-0 away victory against Wydad Casablanca. Additionally, he guided Bafana Bafana's second stream team to a bronze medal at the 2023 COSAFA Cup.

Benjamin’s nomination stems from his leadership in guiding Namibia to qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a feat achieved against considerable odds, with notable victories, including a remarkable 2-1 win over 2021 champions Cameroon.

As reported by IPP Media, Desiree Ellis, Jerry Tshabalala, and Zambia’s Bruce Mwape have secured nominations in the Women's Coach of the Year category.

Bafana coach unhappy with Mokwena

Sports Brief reported that South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos, voiced his discontent with Rulani Mokwena's comments regarding injuries to Sundowns players after the 2023 AFCON.

Mokwena, in a post-match press conference, spoke of the ongoing struggles of Ronwen Williams and Teboho Mokoena.

Following Masandawana's victory over Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup, he said the heroic goalkeeper was struggling with his shoulder while the midfielder was harbouring knee issues.
