Cameroon's Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi unveiled Belgium trainer Brys as the new Indomitable Lions coach on Monday in Yaoundé.
Eto'o missed the event due to the federation's disagreement with the choice of coach for the national team.
According to 13 Football via a letter from FECAFOOT, Eto'o had suggested former World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro, two-time AFCON winner Herve Renard and recent Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro for the job.

The role had become vacant following the departure of Rigobert Song after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, with Cameroon reaching the last 16.
