President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o, was not present at the unveiling of new Indomitable Lions coach, Marc Brys.
The Belgium trainer arrived in Yaoundé on Monday to sign a two-and-a-half year contract with the five-time African champions.
At a brief meeting held by Cameroon's Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Brys and his technical team were tasked to qualify the country to the 2026 World Cup and also ensure a successful Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.
"Your mission consists of the obligation to qualify the Lions to the final phase of the next World Cup and ensure them a dominant, triumphant positions, as well as a successful participation at the next CAN," said the Minister, as quoted by Allez Les Lions.

Eto'o's absence prompted a dissatisfaction from the Cameroonian Football Federation over their choice of manager.
FECAFOOT had already established their opposition to the government's decision to unilaterally appoint a coach for the Indomitable Lions.
Cameroon have been without a coach since February after Rigobert Song left his role as coach following a poor Africa Cup of Nations campaign, as reported by Africa News.
Samuel Eto'o rejects Brys' appointment
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Eto'o-led FECAFOOT rejected the appointment of Belgian trainer Marc Brys as the new coach of the Indomitable Lions.
Brys was announced as the new trainer of Cameroon on Tuesday in a statement released by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, with Joachim Mununga and Giannis Xilouris as his assistants.
The former Oud Hervelee Leuven coach is expected to replace Rigobert Song, who left in February following the expiration of his contract.

Sports Brief also reported that Cameroon have appointed Marc Brys as the country's new head coach following the departure of Rigobert Song last month.
Song's contract was not extended after the Indomitable Lions exited the Africa Cup of Nations in the Round of 16, having managed only one win.
It is believed Brys will immediately take over as coach and will lead the team in his first games during the return of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
