"Is he a world-class goal scorer? Yes," he said on talkSPORT.
"I think his record speaks for itself. Is he a world-class player, technically? I wouldn't say so," he added.
The former Reading coach went on to explain why he thinks Salah is not a technically world-class player, revealing his struggles with the ball.
"I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot, putting balls into the box, they are not great," he continued. "But as far as a world-class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think yes."
