“It’s just for people to know that I’m back home. I’m here to score goals and that is exactly what I want to do, " he said as quoted by iDiski Times.

The match showcased the Buccaneers' dominance from the onset, with Mabasa setting the tone by breaking the deadlock 11 minutes into the game. The momentum continued as Relebohile Mofokeng and Kabelo Dlamini extended the lead to 3-0 before half-time. Despite missing a penalty opportunity, Mabasa remained relentless, scoring his second and third goals in the second half, solidifying Pirates' commanding lead.

The hat-trick was his first in his professional career, a moment he cherished deeply as he received the coveted match ball.

"I’m happy and just very happy for the goals, happy for the team performance and definitely we need to improve and get the results, and we’ve been doing that, so I’m just happy for that and grateful for that," he said, as reported by Goal.

The victory fueled the team's aspirations for a CAF Champions League spot, as they surged to third place in the league DStv Premiership standings.

Jose Riveiro gives main reason for Mabasa’s form

Sports Brief reported that Buccaneers coach, Jose Riveiro, discussed Mabasa's impact at the club, and why he was thriving this season.

The Spaniard said Mabasa's run of games had helped him regain form.

He was deemed surplus to requirements at Pirates in the last few seasons.
