Cole Palmer maximised on a Jordan Pickford mistake to score a long-range goal in the Premier League on Monday, April 15.
Palmer needed only 29 minutes to pile misery on Everton, who came into the game on the back of a two-point deduction. His first goal was a beautiful curler from the edge of the penalty area before he headed in a rebound.
Apart from precision and insane vision, scoring from way out usually requires a player to instantly notice that a goalkeeper is not on his line before finishing the perfect strike to nestle into the back of the net.
After that Palmer goal, Sports Brief brings you a list of some of the other long-range efforts in the Premier League over the years.

Bruno Fernandes scored one of the best goals of the 2023/2024 season when he chipped Liverpool's goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from the halfway line on April 7.

4. Edinson Cavani - Manchester United vs Fulham - 2021
Manchester United players seem to have a penchant for such goals. Cavani's career in England never hit the same heights it did in other countries, but he had a couple of highs.
A beautiful flick from Fernandes from a David de Gea goal-kick allowed Cavani to spot Alphonse Areola off his line. He attempted the ridiculous from 40 yards and it went in.
5. David Luiz - Chelsea vs Fulham - 2013
The goalkeeper wasn't particularly out of his line, but this was down to David Luiz's brilliance and shotpower. Then at Chelsea, Luiz maximised on the extra space he had been afforded in the middle of the pack to send in a shot into the roof of the net from 35 yards out.
