The Spain-born striker decided to switch nationalities and represent the Black Stars in 2022 but has netted only once for Ghana.
The Athletic Bilbao star endured a difficult 2022 FIFA World Cup and struggled at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast early this year.
Although he has been in red-hot form for Athletic Bilbao, Williams is confident things will eventually fall in place with the Black Stars.

"I would never have imagined this. I had to make a decision and I don’t regret being able to represent the country of my parents and my family, to go back to my origins, to be able to travel more and see my loved ones in Ghana," Williams shared with Club del Deportista, as quoted by Ghana Soccernet.
Williams also believes his decision snub Spain had resulted in one of his best periods as a player.
"It’s true that things didn’t work out as we’d all hoped, but it’s true that on a sporting and personal level, it helped me a lot."
The 29-year-old missed Ghana's friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in March's international break after he was excused by the technical team.
Williams and his younger brother, Nico Williams, could make history on Saturday when Bilbao face Real Mallorca in the Copa del Rey final.
He has scored 11 goals and provided five assists across all competitions for the Basque club this season, per Transfermarkt.
