FootballLionel Messi: Tata Martino Provides Injury Update on Inter Miami Star Ahead of Monterrey Clash
- Lionel Messi is back in Inter Miami's training after his muscle injury
- The team has struggled for results in the four games he has missed
- Coach, Gerardo Martino, has provided an update on Messi's status
After weeks out with a muscle injury, Lionel Messi could feature for Inter Miami in their CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final clash against Monterrey.
He last played for Miami in their 3-1 win over Nashville SC in the cup, which helped them progress to the quarter-final and book a date with the Mexican club.
Messi has yet to feature since then. At first, it was claimed he was being rested, but it was later confirmed he was dealing with a muscular problem, which has kept him out of four games for the club.
The injury also prevented him from joining Argentina for the March international break. The world champions won against El Salvador and Costa Rica in his absence.

Martino provides update on Messi
Head coach, Tata Martino, confirmed the 36-year-old is back on the grass and has been spotted in full team training ahead of the continental competition.
Via Sportskeeda, he was asked if the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner will feature against the Liga MX club, and he said:
"Tomorrow, we'll decide. Today, I don't know. He trained today, yes. There's still 24 hours left."
Tata added that there is still a long way to go in the season, and the club has to manage the timing of the injury.
"What we can't do is put our players' physical condition at risk. We'll decide what's best for Leo," he added.
Per Transfermarkt, the World Cup winner has scored five times in as many games this season and also provided two assists for his teammates. They've picked up four points in four league games in his absence.
